Great News: Corona vaccination for citizens above 18 years of age - Registration from 24th April (Saturday)!

The extent/impact of the resurgent coronavirus is quite fast and wide, all over the country in the last few weeks! In fact, the resurgent coronavirus spread has been so fast and wide that now India is all set to overtake the USA to the extent of spread!

The Central Ministry of Health has informed that over the last 24 hours, 314835 citizens have been infected with the resurgent coronavirus in India.

The number of citizens infected day-before-yesterday (Tuesday, 20th) was 2.59 Lakhs. Yesterday (Wednesday, 21st April), it was 2.95 Lakhs, But today (Thursday, 22nd April), it has shot up to 3.14 Lakhs citizens getting infected!

In the above anxious situation, the central government came up with a decision on 19th April and announced that permission was given to vaccinating citizens above 18 years of age from 1st May! It was further announced, the citizens above 18 years of age have to register for getting vaccinated.

Subsequently, India�s Serum Institute, manufacturing the vaccines, announced its revised prices! A price of Rs. 400 per vaccine is fixed for the vaccines given to the State Governments. The price of the vaccine sold to private hospitals will be Rs. 600.

However, Serum Institute has further announced that the vaccine will continue to be sold at Rs. 150 to the Central Government.

Presently, Covaccine and Covishield vaccines are being administered in India. It is expected that approval will be given soon for the Russian vaccine.

As such, it has been announced that citizens above 18 years of age can register from vaccination from 24th April (Saturday).

Accordingly, citizens above 18 years of age can use the APP CoWIN and register as per the following procedure:

Procedure for COVID-19 Vaccinations Registration
  • Visit the official website CoWIN - www.cowin.gov.in and register.
  • Enter the 10-digit cell phone number OR Aadhar Card number.
  • Register the OTP (One-Time-Password) received in your cell phone.
  • SMS regarding the vaccination time, date and location for vaccinations will be received.
  • Visit the relevant hospital at the right time and get vaccinated!
  • Once the date for vaccination is confirmed, the registration is complete.
  • Then, get the vaccination done on the given date.

Note:
Remember to take any one of the Identity Proofs with a photograph - Aadhar card, PAN Card, Voter ID, Driving Licence, Medical Insurance Smartcard given by the Labour Ministry, Passport, Bank or Post Office Savings Accountnt Passbook, or Pension Order - and show it to get vaccinated!
