IT raid in 3 schools

Three schools in Namakkal were raided by the Income Tax Department on Thursday. The schools are known as ‘super schools’ as they have produced rank holders.
Officials reached the schools at 10 am and went on with their search till late in the night. The schools are SKV Matriculation Higher Secondary School at Kandhampalayam (Tiruchengode – Paramathi Road), Greenpark Matriculation Higher Secondary School at Boothupatti in Namakkal and Kurinji Matriculation Higher Secondary School at Kavettipatti (Namakkal – Paramathi Road).
Speaking to the press, an IT official said, ‘Three teams totally comprising 45 Income Tax officials conducted the raids. They searched for records such as the fees quoted by the schools as against the fee fixed by the State government, receipts given to the parents and soft copies of the records.’
