The new low pressure that is likely to form over south east Bay of Bengal would be responsible for the rainfall activity in Tamil Nadu. It is now known that the cyclone Nivar has weakened into a severe cyclonic storm after it made landfall.

It has been pointed out by Mr. Balachandran, deputy director general of meteorology at RMC Chennai that a low pressure area would form by Sunday, 29th November and in the subsequent 24 hours it would concentrate into a depression. This depression would then intensify and move towards the coast of TN.

It is clear that between 1st and 3rd of December, there would be enhanced rainfall in Tamil Nadu and in Puducherry. Chennai based weather blogger Mr. Pradeep John spoke about how the new system would bring heavy rains in the delta regions and in the southern parts of TN. The condition of the sky would be partly cloudy in Chennai.
