TNEB: Appeal to the public to handle electric equipment carefully during the monsoon rainy season!

With the onset of the monsoon rainy season, TANGEDCO has released the guidelines for the public to prevent electrical accidents.

In a notification released by TANGEDCO, it is advised:

Buy exclusively only electric equipment/gadget with ISI mark.
While fixing the electric lights, take care to keep the concerned switch �off�!
Useonly3-pin plug and socket for equipment like refrigerators, grinders, etc.
Use electric leak preventer to ensure that there are no accidents due to electric leakage.
Undertake any electricity-related activity only with the government-approved agency.
Avoid using non-functioning electric equipment/gadget.
Earth-pipe must have been fixed in each residence and ensure that it is NOT TOUCHED BY CHILDREN OR (PET) ANIMALS. Maintain it properly!
Install the plug-points and switches at a good height. Do not use electric wires for drying clothes!
Do not tie cattle on electric poles or supporting rods.
When it rains, do not go near the electricity equipment installed in pubic places.
In case you find electric wires/cable cut, please inform the nearest EB office immediately!
While constructing buildings near the electric poles, ensure enough gap.
Approach the nearest EB Office in order to cut off tree branches touching electric wires.
In case of fires due to electricity-related accidents, DO NOT USE WATER TO DOUSE THE FIRE.
WHILE THERE IS LIGHTNING, THUNDER, DO NOT STAND IN THE OPEN AREAS OR NEAR THE OPEN DOORS/WINDOWS IN THE HOUSE!
