Shooting range near Avadi

The Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu (SDAT) will soon set up a shooting range at Veerapuram. The range, which is 6 kms from Avadi, will have a 10 metre air conditioned facility. The campus has been built in association with the Police Department. The facility has an electronic score board. While the 10 metre facility is for beginners, there are 25 metre and 50 metre facilities for professionals.
Says an SDAT official, �We also plan to set up a `trap and skeet` range soon with all the facilities� It will be open to the public and members of other rifle clubs. For members of the range, there will be no time restriction. A monthly fee of 500 would be charged. A coach would be brought in if more join in as members. (We plan) to create awareness among new members about the various shooting competitions in the country. They will be taught the latest technology.�
