New Experience for Students & Teachers: Online classes start in the TN Government colleges

Posted on: 04/Aug/2020 11:04:23 AM
For the students studying in the second and third year in the government colleges in TN, yesterday, 3rd August 2020 would not be forgotten easily. These students attended online classes for the first time. Mobile phones and laptops took the center stage in the online classes yesterday. Not only for the students but also for the teachers it was a unique first-day experience.

According to a government college professor, yesterday was the first day of online interaction and there was a 3-hour orientation for the new semester. He highlighted that the attendance was just around 50 to 70 percent and from tomorrow onwards there would be a full session.

Telecasting classes on the TV channel were considered by many government college teachers and for this the teachers association has made an appeal to the officials of the state higher education department.

To participate in the online classes, many students would not have sufficient data on their mobile phones. This was mentioned by the Government College Teachers Manram in the letter to the CM of TN, the higher education minister, and the department officials.

A third-year student from Erode based Arts and Science College spoke his heart out about how the 3-hour session was unique and good. He mentioned that he and his classmates were informed about the syllabus and about the teacher in the 3-hour session. Information about the classes that would be conducted was also discussed. It must be noted that on Monday AUT joined hands with the GCTM.
