Due to change in the wind velocity and convection, the districts across the sea border may have chances of mild showers, says the Chennai Meteorological Research Centre. As per the prediction, the union territories of Puducherry, Karaikkal along with the districts of Kovai, Salem, Namakkal, Nilagiri, Vellore, Tiruvannamalai, and Villupuram may witness light showers during the day. Most of the districts across the sea border and a few inner districts may have mild showers.
The southwest and Central east winds reach Tamil Nadu from the west Arabic sea at a speed of 50 to 60 km/s. Hence, the fishermen are advised to avoid fishing till July 11 in the above-mentioned districts. The possible rain clouds shall decrease the hotness in the state.
