Deadlines relaxed to ensure admissions for CBSE students

Since the CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Examinations) results will be out only between May 25th and 28th, some deadlines have been adjusted by colleges for admissions. Incidentally, the 25th of May is the last date to submit applications for counseling into engineering courses. The Supreme Court had passed an order that all classes must begin on August 1st. With this in mind, colleges have worked backwards and fixed dates and deadlines.
‘Tthe Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions-2013 is being held in compliance with the Supreme Court diktat that engineering courses should commence by August 1. With the CBSE announcing its results anytime between May 25 and 28, certain deadlines have been relaxed for these students to facilitate their participation in the TNEA. While the last date for submission of filled-in forms for participation in the process is May 20 for Plus-2 students, CBSE students can do so by May 30. The rank list will be out on June 12, a day after announcement of Plus-2 revaluation results… Ranks for their CBSE counterparts will be awarded in the form of fractions so as to avoid confusion. However, the CBSE students must intimate to us any change in their original marks after revaluation,as the board does not make available the mark list to us’, said Vice Chancellor of Anna University Dr. P. Kaliraj.
