IT raids at GRT jewellery stores and hotels

Income tax officials raided all property belonging to GRT jewellery stores starting Thursday morning. The hotels and stores belonging to the GRT group in Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad were searched simultaneously. Sources say that the raids are being conducted on a tip received by the officials in the wake of increase in sales during Akshaya Tritiya which was on Monday.
The GRT star hotel and the stores that are situated in T. Nagar in Chennai were searched starting 7.00 am on Thursday.
