E-pass not required for candidates writing the Entrance Examination for IIT Hyderabad

The Chief Secretary of the State Government of Tamil Nadu, Shanmugam, has informed that E-pass is not required for the candidates writing the entrance test for the courses offered in IIT, Hyderabad.

The Chief Secretary has written a letter to all the DGPS, all district collectors, and the Commissioner of the Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) which mentions:

�The Entrance Test for admission to the IIT, Hyderabad is scheduled for 24th June. This Entrance Examination is categorized as Essential Activity. So, the Hall-Ticket or ID given for writing this Entrance Examination will be considered equivalent to an E-pass, it can be used by the candidate for attending the examination (the trip from the residence to the examination center and the retune)

Further, the Chief Secretary has informed that the Commissioner, GCC, has to take all necessary initiatives to ensure that this Entrance Examination for IIT Hyderabad is conducted smoothly.
