School Education Minister warns: no online classes must be conducted!

The Tamil Nadu State Government Minister for School Education K. A. Sengottaiyan has warned that the private schools must not conduct online classes.

The State Minister for School Education had a session with the press today (Wednesday, 27th May). The Minister shared:

During the lockdown period, the private sector schools must not conduct online classes! Stringent immediate action will be taken on the private sector schools that violate this condition! The minister also informed that action will be taken on the schools which demand fees to be paid during the lockdown conditions.

As the schools reopening has been postponed continuously and thus delayed, with the available academic time being thus reduced, the minister informed that a special committee is being formed to explore the possibilities of the reduced syllabus, and based on the recommendations of this committee, decisions will be taken on important issues such as reopening of schools, conducting classes on a rotational basis, etc.

Earlier, many private sector schools going by the lockdown situation due to coronavirus pandemic and the subsequent delay in reopening schools had planned to commence online classes from 1st June. In this regard, some of the private sector schools are already conducting online classes for a few hours!

In this scenario, the State Minister for School Education has now released this announcement warning against conducting online classes!
