Kapil Sibal and C.P. Joshi take over Law and Railway Ministries

In the wake of the resignations of Railway Minister Pawan Bansal and Law Minister Ashwani Kumar, Kapil Sibal and C.P. Joshi have been given their portfolios in addition to their existing ones. Mr. Sibal who is currently Telecom Minister will be given the Law Ministry and Mr. Joshi who is currently Road and transport Minister will be given the Railway Ministry.
Sources said, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has written to President Pranab Mukherjee recommending the changes, a day after Bansal and Kumar resigned in the wake of allegations of bribery and interfering with the CBI probe in the Coalgate scam.
