Hike in diesel prices

The Central government has decided to allow oil companies to raise the price of diesel in view of the heavy losses being faced by the companies. Oil companies have been given the freedom to fix prices according to the international market. Diesel prices rose by 45 paise per litre in March.
The price of a litre of diesel will now cost 90 paise more excluding VAT. Prices will come into effect at midnight on Friday.
