Fire at Nissan’s supplier warehouse

A major fire broke out at the warehouse of a supplier to Nissan Motors. The facility of Valeo Lightings and Clutches caught fire on Thursday afternoon. The warehouse which stores lights, cables and other accessories for Renault – Nissan, is situated in Vallam Village which is on the Orgadam – Sriperumbudur Road.
According to reports, a fire alert was sounded at 1.35 pm on Thursday. The workers were evacuated immediately and a message was received at the Sriperumbudur Fire Station at 1.45 pm. The fire brigade was on the scene at 1.50 pm. It took four tenders and six hours to contain the fire. The tenders were from Kanchipuram, Maraimalainagar, Chengalpet ad Irungatukottai. A case has been registered and investigations are underway.
