SRM to take coaching classes to rural areas

SRM IAS Academy will now take coaching classes in rural areas. The announcement was made on Wednesday by SRM University’s Chancellor T.R. Panchamuthu. He also announced the names of successful candidates from the Academy who were selected after the exams.
‘The coaching is entirely free of cost.The academy’s objective was to create “honest bureaucrats”. 50 candidates wrote the UPSC examination and went up to personal interview, while the present batch had 60 of them taking the test in 2012. Four have been selected for the services.
‘We are also planning to extend the coaching service to the districts and the rural population.Candidates will be selected through a special drive and be coached in the city, as the facilities are available only here’, he said.
