The Corona virus infection threat has turned the lives of many upside down. The students have been facing enormous stress in this period of time.

As the students are taking more stress now by preparing for competitive exams like NEET, IIT-JEE etc, some schools belonging to the state of TN have demanded that the marks scored by the students in their board examinations must be given importance for the admission for engineering and medical colleges.

The students normally attend contact or classroom based coaching classes before the competitive examinations. This time the Corona virus threat has made social distancing very essential and as a result the students might not be able to sit together in the contact coaching classes.

It must be noted that the NTA or National Testing Agency had postponed NEET and JEE exams and these would take place after CBSE plus two board examinations.

According to Mr. N. Vijayan senior principal of Zion and Alwin group of schools in Chennai, Coorna virus threat has mentally affected the students who have been preparing for NEET, JEE etc. The house arrest like situation now is making the lives of many students tough as this situation is making the concentration of the students very difficult.

He wanted the NTA to reduce the syllabus for NEET 2020 as the students are already facing stress. He concluded that the government must consider giving more importance to the board exam marks for medical admissions by taking the marks scored in subjects like Biology, Physics and Chemistry atleast for 2020.

As per Mr. G.J. Manohar, headmaster of MCC Higher Secondary School in Chetpet, Chennai, it is clear that at this point of time the students cannot go out and the schools would not be able to coach them. Once lock down gets over, conducting examinations like NEET would be challenging.
