New schemes announced for SETC buses and terminals

Tamil Nadu Transport Minister V. Senthil Balaji announced schemes to make travel by State Express Transport Corporation (SETC) easier for commuters. The scheme includes providing food for long distance travelers and offering an SMS facility with details of arrival, departure, fares etc.
Also, he announced that both performing and non performing assets such as bus terminuses would be used to construct commercial complexes on a Public Private Partnership basis. The schemes are in progress in T. Nagar and Tiruvanmiyur bus terminals currently. The STC (State Transport Corporation) has identified spaces in Vikravandi, Ulundurpet, Velankanni, Kattabomman Nagar, Maharaja Nagar, Palayamkottai and Vannarpettai for the purpose.
