8 % DA hike for government employees

Tamilnadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa have announced on Thursday 8 % increase in the dearness allowance (DA) for State government employees and teachers with effective from January 1,2013.
She said "Hike would benefit employees of government-aided educational institutions, teachers, village assistants working in the revenue department, employees of anganwadi and nutritious meal centres, village panchayat assistants, clerks, pensioners and family pensioners and all those who were eligible for DA".
She said that a total of 18 lakh persons would be benefited from the hike.
