Platinum Jubilee of Rotary Club: Organises 3-day conference Nakshatras

Rotary International District 3232, Chennai, organised a conference ‘Nakshatras’ recently at the Chennai Convention Centre, Nandambakkam, under the leadership of Conference Chairman S. Mahaveer Bothra and Rotary District Governor, G. Chandramohan.
The Chief Guest of the function, The Tamil Nadu State Minister for Tamil Language, K. Pamdiarajan, addressed the gathering.
Over 1 Lakh people participated in the 3-day event full of power-packed sessions which explained the Rotary Projects, speeches by eminent propel on ‘Health & Hygiene, Water C conservation Climate Change, Scaling Up to Serve, etc.!
Awards were given to eminent people:
- For the sake of Honour Award - Huzaika Koraikiwala, Executive Director, Wockhardt Limited Founder the World Peace Keepers’ Movement
- Pasumai Nayagan Virudhu - Vivek, Tamil Actor Comedian and Social activist
- Nethra Seva Rathna Award - Mohan Rajan, Founder, Rajan Eye Hospital,
- Award for best initiatives to prevent Climate Change - Sri Babul Supriyo, Honourable Union Minister for Environment, Forest, and Climate Change)
- Women Achievers Awards to - Niranjana National Cricketer (Indian Women`s’ Cricket Team), Pallavi and Rohini Das (World Sailing Champions from India) and others.
- The Rotary organises District Conferences every year which turns out to be a big event to showcase the initiatives and projects Rotary does!
This year 2020 is extra special for them as they are completing 100 years of service this year!
