Special arrangements are being made to have Darshan of Lord Muruga in the Chennai Metro City Vadapalani temple on the occasion of the New Year.
As a tradition, tens of thousands of devotees visit the Lord Muruga temple every year on the break of the New Year.
As such, in order to facilitate the expected huge gathering of devotees, the Vadapalani Murugan temple administration has made some special arrangements for Darshan of Lord Muruga and performing Archanas.
The deity of Lord Muruga will be adorned with a shield of golden coins and offer Darshan from 4.00 AM in the morning to 12.00 Noon.
The deity of Lord Muruga will be adorned with Golden Shield (�Thanga Kavasam�) and offer Darshan to the devotees from 1.00 PM to 4.00 PM.
The deity of Lord Muruga will be adorned with sandal-paste covering and bedecked with flowers and would offer Darshan from the devotees from 5.00 PM to 10.00 PM.
Arrangements have been made for a special entry route for Darshan and free Darshan for the general public at the entrance of the South Rajagopuram (temple tower). Arrangements have been made to sell special Rs. 50 and Rs. 100 Darshan tickets. A special footwear safety stall has been set up at the South entrance of the temple near the ticket counter. Similarly, arrangements have been made to park the 2-wheelers near the north of the theppakkulam. Arrangements have been made to park the cars in front of the Valli Thirumana Mandapam.
