Chennai Metrowater to revive tubewells

Chennai Metrowater will revive about 100 tube wells aroun the city, officials have announced on Monday.
Due to insufficient rainfall and suspension of Krishna water supply, reservoirs in city are only 40% full.
In order to tackle the crisis, water from the Nemmeli desalination plant is being supplied to south Chennai. North Chennai gets water from Minjur plant. Officials are also taking efforts to get 15 million litres water from the well fields at Thamaraipakkam and Poondi.
