Chennai to get light rains for the next 2 days

The latest news is city of Chennai would have light rains over the next 48 hours. It must be taken into account that Chennai might get intense rains during the weekend and this could be due to easterly winds.
It was predicted by the meteorological department that the condition of the sky is likely to be cloudy and light rains is likely to take place in some areas. The point is there would be lull in the rains in Chennai but after few days of time rains would get strengthened. There would not be sustained rains in Chennai because of the absence of low pressure over the Bay of Bengal plus there are no signs of cyclone also.
The official belonging to the meteorological department revealed that the above mentioned factors are needed for the Chennai city to get good rains. On 7th or on 8th December, there would be yet another easterly wave and places such as Chennai, Tiruvallur and Kancheepuram would get rains. This was as per Chennai based weather blogger, Mr. Pradeep John.
He explained about how as we go into the month of December rain shifts down in latitude with Inter Tropical Convergence Zone. It is known that this is a belt of low pressure which circles the Earth near Equator. He added that this Inter Tropical Convergence Zone would be moving down unless there is major low pressure or cyclone moving up in latitude. The suburbs of Chennai got good amount of rains but the city did not get rains on Tuesday night.
