Formation of new districts: Government order

The state government of Tamil Nadu has released an order regularizing the recent formation of new districts in the state.

8 Taluks have been included - Tirunelveli, Palayamkottai, Maanur, Nanguneri, Cheranmadevi, Radhapuram, Ambasamudram, and Thisaiyanvinai,

In the new Tenkasi district which was formed separating from the Tirunelveli district, 2 new revenue regions have been formed. 8 Taluks have been formed in the Tenkasi district - Tenkasi, Sengottai, Kadaiyanallur, Sivagiri, Aalankulam, Sankarankovil, Thiruvermkatam, and V K Pudhur.

In the Vellore district, the Taluks of Vellore, Arakonam, Katpadi, Gudiyatham, Peranampattu, and K V Kuppam (new) have been formed. 2 revenue regions - Vellore and Gudiyatham are formed.

In the new Tirupathur district which was formed separating from the Vellore district, 4 Taluks have been formed - Tirupathur, Vaniyambadi, Ambur, and Naatrampalli, 2 revenue regions have been formed - Tirupathur and Vaniyambadi.

In the new Ranipet district which was formed separating from Vellore district, 4 Taluks - Wallajah, Arkot, Nemili, and Arakonam. New revenue regions - Ranipet and Arakonam have been formed.

In the new Chengalpattu district, which was formed separating from Kanchipuram district, 3 divisions - Chengalpattu, Maduranthakam, and Tambaram - have been formed. 8 Taluks are formed - Chengalpattu, Madhuranthakam, Cheyyur, Tiruporur, Tambaram, Thirukkazhukkundram, Pallavaran, and Vandalur.

In Kanchipuram, the 4 taluks of Kanchipuram, Uthiramerur, Sripreumpudhur, Wallajabad, and Kundrathur will function.

The government order regarding the separation of Kallakuruchi district forming new one has not been released yet.

The officers and staff are being appointed on a transfer basis for these new set-ups.
