Veteran film music director T.K. Ramamurthy passed away in city hospital on Wednesday. He was 91 years old. Mr. Ramamurthy was part of the duo Viswanathan � Ramamurthy that gave many hit songs in and around the 1960s.
Noted among their repertoire is the music for �Karnan�, the story of the film�s namesake from the Mahabharata, which starred thespians Sivaji Ganesan and N.T. Rama Rao.
Mr. Ramamurthy was also a violinist. He parted ways with his partner Viswanathan in the 60s and gave music solo to a few films. He was recently honoured by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa during the anniversary function of Jaya TV.
