At present UAN (Universal Account Number) is required to withdraw money from the Provident Fund Account. UAN is given by the employer. With the new facility, the Provident Fund subscriber/account holder need not depend on the employer to withdraw money from his PF account. This facility has been introduced on the official website of the EPFO (Employee Provident Fund Organisation).
For the monthly salary earning employees, this Universal Account Number (UAN) will be given on the website of EPFO. This will change the employees Provident Fund number. From that date, this number will remain even if the employee joins different companies in his/her career and UAN will never change until the employee retires.
Presently, PAN and Aadhar card numbers are linked to the UAN. This exclusive UAN will be maintained at the EPFO website.
In this scenario, the 67th anniversary of the Central Employees Welfare Endowment was organized. The central government minister Santosh Gangwar participated. At the event, he inaugurated 2 new facilities.
With the 1st new facility, the monthly-salaries employees need not apply to the employing company for getting the UAN. They can devise the UAN by themselves.
The second facility is for the pensioners. The pensioners can now download the all pension-related documents in the DG locker.
