To help launch a parent-friendly app, the ministry of women and child development had asked all the state resource agencies for suggestions.
It was pointed out by a senior official belonging to the department of social welfare that the registration process, as well as uploading of documents, could be done on the go from wherever the parents are. It is important to mention that presently the registration and process of adoption are done online through the web portal www.cara.nic.in of the Central Adoption Resource Authority or CARA.
It is known that the process of adoption is the same throughout India. It must be taken into account that the prospective parents must log on to the website and receive emails about the progression of their adoption idea.
The advantage with the mobile application is the parents would not have to wait for the emails but would get alerts and they could check the status of their application. It was later revealed that many people use their mobile phones to do the work these days. Point to be noted is it is tough to access the website on CARA on mobile phones due to heavier design.

According to Girija Kumarababu, secretary of the Indian Council of Child Welfare, adopting a child using a mobile app was a good idea. She spoke about how the pilot study must be carried out first to find out whether the app is working or not. She added that to keep up with the digital trend it is worth to give it a try. It must be noted that there are few security concerns regarding the photos of the kids being easily accessible to all.
