A great NEM awaits Tamil Nadu. We will be getting Normal to excess rains this NEM with good October, tricky November and normal December on cards.
The spells of easterly wave take me back to 1996 when the easterly wave came one after another. I would watch the skies for every 30 mins to see if there are any developments and out of nowhere there will be sudden 15-20 mins rains. 2019 start will be similar to that.
Good moderate rains with breaks reported across the coastal districts, with easterly wave on and off rains will happen, we can expect super duper stand and deliver downpours but sharp intense high intense rains can be expected here and now. This is applicable to all coastal districts right from Chennai to Thoothukudi.
Chennai and other coastal districts
Coastal stations right from Thoothukudi to Chennai will see on and off sudden rains in the day time and as we go into night the rains will pick up into mornings. For Chennai, the above pattern will prevail too.
Interiors and western districts - great days ahead for interiors
The interiors parts of state like Coimbatore, Nilgiris, Virudhungar, Theni, Dindigul, Madurai, Trichy, Erode, Namakkal, Salem, Tiruppur and southern belts of Tirunelveli, Kanyakumari, Thoothukudi, Ramanathapuram, Pudukottai, Sivaganga all will get good rains with no strong system in the Bay of Bengal, the interiors and western districts will rock with high intense rains Good days ahead for interiors and western districts in leeward side. Coonoor, Kodai, Ooty will get daily rains.
When there is a low form in bay of Bengal, the action will shift to coastal stations. Till then the above pattern will prevail.
Kerala will see excess rains but nothing to worry about floods as NEM rains rarely cause floods because it does not rain too much in the mountains and in plains at the same time. SWM rains are different while NEM rains are different.
Bangalore will have good rains in October. After which it is not her season.
