The Tamil Nadu State Government Minister for Transport, M R Vijayabhaskar informed that special buses will be operated during the festivals of Ayudha Pooja and Deepavali.
A consultative and review meeting was conducted st th3e Chief Secretariat presided by the state transport minister M R Vijayabhaskar. He shared after the meeting:
As 4 successive holidays are coming on 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th October with the ensuing Ayudha Pooja festival, it has been decided to operate special buses.
Accordingly, the advance reservation centres for booking tickets in these buses will be set up in 4 places in the Chennai Metro City including MEPZ, Poonamallee, and Madhavaram from 3rd October.
6145 special buses will be operated from 4th October to 6th October.
In a similar arrangement, for the grand Deepavali festival, 10940 special buses will be operated from 5 places in the Chennai Metro City from 24th October to 26th October.
To facilitate the return journeys after the celebration of Deepavali at their native places, return journeys with 4627 buses will be operated to the Chennai Metro City from 27th October to 30th October.’
