Multimodal hub of 21 storey and 10 lakh sq ft at Broadway in Chennai

How will you feel when you come across a 21 storey multi-modal hub having parking space for nearly 2000 cars and motorcycles in one of the busiest places in the Chennai city? Excited and happy isn�t it!!
The information is the Corporation of Chennai has got plans to construct a 21 storey multi-modal hub of 10 lakh square feet in Broadway under public-private partnership integrating the Chennai metro.
On Monday, 16th September 20129, the final feasibility report of the multimodal hub was presented in Ripon Buildings. An official later spoke about how the multi-modal hub would be developed by increasing the floor space index or FSI from 3.25 to 5.3.
The sensational piece of information in this hub would have a parking space for 1904 cars and 1820 motorcycles. It must be taken into account that the bus stand would be developed with 97 bays across 2 floors. There would be 53 bus bays on the lower floor and 44 bus bays in the upper level.
Information collected in the leasable area in the multi-modal hub would be 92,800 sq m with commercial and retail permitted on all the 21 floors. There would be interchange hub for intracity buses, metro, MRTS and para-transit modes of transport in the development of infrastructure.
It was mentioned that the parking fees have not been finalized yet but the consultant has suggested that the parking fees for cars would be Rs 50 for the first hour and the parking fees for motorcycles would be Rs 20 for the first hour.
It is important to note that the rental rate is likely to be Rs 80 per sq ft and the occupancy rate is expected to be around 95%. Information is the development of the Broadway bus stand that is a social project would involve 36% of the total project cost. From the bus operations, the revenue share would be just 1%. The project is expected to be promoted by the support in the form of a grant.
It must be noted that the final feasibility report of a 13-floor multi-level car parking facility with commercial space on Nungambakkam High Road has been completed. Sensational information is as many as 238 cars and 320 motorcycles could be parked in the parking space.
On the 64 cents of land, the parking lots would be developed and it is said that the 2 basements would have parking space for motorcycles. Parking space for 188 cars would be there from the first to the fifth floor and office space would be present from 6th to 13th floor. Information is the building and the parking lot has been planned in the retail hub of Nungambakkam surrounded by centres like Chetpet, Egmore, Teynampet, Kodambakkam, T, Nagar, Cholaimedu and Aminjikarai.
