A special dolls-display on the occasion of Navarathri

The Tamil Nadu Khadi craft and Village Industries Board, also known as �Poompuhar�, has inaugurated a special �dolls display�, famously known as �golu� in Tamil - at the Chennai Anna Salai Poompuhar Sales showroom on 6th September,
The Tamil Nadu State Government Minister for Industries, Benjamin, inaugurated this special �golu�.
The State Government Chief Secretary Kumar Jayanth, the Managing Director of Poompuhar, Chandramohan and others participated in this inauguration.
Dolls made by excellent craftsmen from different states such as Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Rajasthan, Kolkata (West Bengal), Andhra, and Karnataka are displayed!
A large variety of dolls, made from different ingredients such as paper-Mache, marble powder, sandalwood and other trees, etc., doll groups signifying Dasavatharam (the 10 avatars of Lord Vishnu), Ramayanam, Karthigai ladies ( Who nurtured Lord Muruga as a child!), wedding party, etc., have been displayed and they are the major attractions for the large number of visitors.
Dolls, costing from Rs. 50 to Rs. 1.25 Lakhs are on display.10% special discounts are on offer!
The display will be till 12th October.
Visitors are allowed daily from 10.00 AM to 8.00 PM.
