Approval online for construction under 1200 sq ft: Tamil Nadu State Minister

The Tamil Nadu State Minister for the Department Local Administrations, has announced that approval for construction will be given online for the houses/flats under 1200 sq. ft. without field inspection.
During the session with the press, the minister informed:
It had been announced earlier in the Legislative Assembly that the procedure for approval for construction will be simplified. Accordingly, the system for approval of constructions has been simplified.
Accordingly, a facility will soon be available for the applicants to check the maps of their constructions through a self-operating software in 15 major city corporations, 121 City Administrations, and 528 Panchayats. Gradually, this facility ill be extended to all other administrations as well.
In order to reduce the time taken by the administrations to give the approval for plan/construction, as per the guideline given by the central government model construction rules and regulations 2016, for the constructions of under 1200 sq ft under an area of 2500 sq ft in the approved plots for construction of houses, plots of the Tamil Nadu Housing Board, and the plots approved by the local administrations, approval will be given based on the documents submitted without any field survey/inspection.
As per the plans to regularize all the plots which were unapproved, 50423 plots under the 7291 plot sections approved by 15 city administrations, 46371 plots under the 7145 plot sections 121 city administrations, and 86163 plots approved under the 78545 plot sections under 528 major city administrations.
Thus a total of 182957 plots (owners) as approve under 22281 plot sections can get the approval for construction online after applying.
