Prospects of heavy rain in Tamil Nadu next 2 days

The Chennai Meteorological Centre has informed that there are prospects of heavy rains in Tamil Nadu over the next 2 days. This is due to the effect of the cyclonic format developed in the upper layers of the atmosphere.

So, due to the above cyclonic format in the upper layers of the atmosphere and also due to the convective rain phenomenon, there are prospects of medium rains in most districts in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry over the next 2 days.

The Chennai Meteorological Centre has further informed that there are prospects of heavy rains in a few places in Vellore, Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri, Erode, Coimbatore, Nilgiri, Theni, Dindigul, Thiruvannamalai, Cuddalore, Villupuram, Nagappattinam, Thiruvarur, and Puducherry.

In the last 24 hours, a maximum rainfall of 10 cm has been recorded in Sankarapuram, Villupuram District and Kumbakonam in Thanjavur District.

As regards the Chennai Metro City, it will generally remain cloudy. There are prospects of mild to medium rain in a few places in the city. A maximum temperature of 37 Degrees Celsius is to recorded and a minimum temperature of 25 Degrees Celsius.

As the Southwest Bay of Bengal is stormy and turbulent and high-speed winds from 45 kmph to 55 kmph are likely to blow, a warning has been issued to the fishermen not to venture into the sea for fishing.
