Short but intense spells of rains in Chennai

On Tuesday, the city of Chennai received its first heavy spell of rains in this month of August and the residents got huge relief after long hot day. It is now brought out that similar short but intense spells of rains with thunders are expected to recur for next 2 days of time in Chennai.
The condition of the sky is likely to be cloudy and light rains or thunder showers are likely to occur in some places. This was as per the forecast made by the meteorological department. On Tuesday, spell of rains and winds lasted for a time of 20 minutes and cooled Chennai. It must be noted that on the evening of Tuesday Chennai city received 0.8 mm of rains. This has been shown by some private weather tracking sites.
This sudden rain in the evening took office goers as well as the students by surprise as it was unexpected. In many places in Chennai there was water stagnation due to the rains. High day temperatures have been responsible for triggering the convective clouds and these clouds produced rains in Chennai. This was according to official belonging to the meteorological department.
It was mentioned by Chennai based weather blogger Mr. Pradeep John that the early sea breeze after hot day and the perfect angle to meet the winds from northeast helped. He then hinted about the possibility of rains in interiors and delta regions apart from other places like Chennai, Chengalpet, Thiruvallur and Kancheepuram etc.
It was later pointed out by a forecast that the maximum temperature in Chennai is likely to be around 36 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature is likely to be around 28 degrees Celsius.
Information is maximum temperature of 37.2 was recorded at Nungambakkam on Tuesday and that was an increase of 2.8 degrees and Meenambakkam recorded maximum temperature of 37.1 degrees and that was an increase of 2.4 degrees Celsius. Point is between 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm on Tuesday the temperature was close to 37 degrees Celsius and the rains have helped to reduce the temperature and by 4:30 pm temperature was 32 degrees.
