The district collector of Kanchipuram, Ponnaiah, confirmed that the idol of Lord Athi Varadhar would definitely be placed back in the pond and the public should not believe the various rumours and false news floating around from various sources including the social networking media!
Today happens to be the 43rd Day of Darshan offered by Lord Athi Varadhar in Kanchipuram. With only a few more days left for the �Lord Athi Varadhar Vaibhavam� to conclude, the swelling of the crowd of devotees has been ever-increasing!
In this situation, Kanchipuram District Collector Ponnaiah had a session with the press. Temporary accommodations with all basic facilities for the visiting teeming crowd of devotees have been arranged in 3 different places in the city of Kanchipuram. These accommodations are located nearer to the various temporary bus stations. Once the news is received that the Darshan is completed for the sizeable number of crowds waiting in the line, the devotees in the above temporary accommodations will be moved to join the main queue waiting for Darshan.
Further, the collector denied the news that there were no prospects of extension of the Darshan of Lord Athi Varadhar for a few more days as reported in various sources including the social networking media.
He informed that as originally planned, the idol of Lord Athi Varadhar will be placed back in the pond on 17th August.
He alerted the public not to believe the various rumours as above!
