In Chennai, many PUBG addicts go to psychiatrists for counselling

How many of us know what a PUBG is?
It must be noted that Players Unknown Battle Grounds or otherwise called as PUBG is an online multiplayer battle royal game. Information is in PUBG up to 100 players could take part in the royal battle and the last man standing the victor. This game has been developed by PUBG Corporation that is a subsidiary of Bluehole (South Korea’s video game company). PUBG is addictive, distracting and is banned in many countries is well known.
The latest information is this PUBG has entered the city of Chennai and is creating issues for many youngsters. The youngsters are taken to the psychiatrists for the purpose of counselling now.
It was mentioned by a popular psychiatrist, Dr. Vinayak Vijayakumar that in a month he got 2 to 4 patients who were addicted to PUBG. He spoke about how in the initial stages the parents were not aware of the problem and how when their kid does poorly in studies then the parents take action. It is well known that kids have easy access to smart phones these days and spend hours together with the smart phones.
Dr. Vinayak Vijayakuamr then explained about how the kids react violently and aggressively when the smart phones were taken away by the parents. At this point of time, the parents seek the help of the psychiatrists. It was later pointed out by Dr. Vijayakumar that his patients were above the age of 13 and sometimes few in the mid or late 20`s also come for the purpose of counselling.
The shocking piece of information is all those who had visited the psychiatrists for counselling admitted that they had played PUBG for about 5 hours a day. Point is elder ones complain about their lack of sleep and inability to work in their offices due to the PUBG addiction.
A psychiatrist specializing in de-addiction services, Dr. Suresh Kumar expressed his thoughts and spoke about how his patients of age 16 to 18 play PUBG for four to eight hours in a day. He added that in the school hours the kids cannot play PUBG and hence they play in their homes till late night. This has lead many kids unable to sleep well at the night time. He revealed that in the next day in the school, the kids become drowsy and could not focus properly.
Arknemesis-Gaming, is a gaming centre in Nungambakkam in Chennai. The retail manager of this centre, Mr. Jigar Bhatt, expressed his views on PUBG addiction. He spoke about how the game was easy to play, free and could be played on the smart phones. He explained that the game was thrilling and how this has made many kids becoming addicted to the game.
