Cloudy days and sparse rains in Chennai city

The latest news is most parts of the city of Chennai would have dry weather conditions for few days while some parts might get light rains. It must be noted that weather remained pleasant and it did not rain on Saturday and Sunday.

In Nungambakkam, the maximum temperature recorded on Sunday was 34.1 degree Celsius and the minimum temperature recorded was 28 degree Celsius. Maximum temperature recorded in Meenambakkam was 33.6 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature recorded was 26.8 degree Celsius. There would be cloudy skies for the next 2 days in Chennai and this was as per the prediction made by the meteorological department. The sky condition is likely to be cloudy and light rain is likely to occur in some places.

It has been mentioned by an official belonging to the meteorological department that dip in the day temperatures might lower the chances of rains in the night time. Important information is some parts might experience rain close to the next weekend. In the intervening night of July 31st and 1st August, there could be rains and this was as per some weather bloggers.

In the next 2 to 3 days, there would be cyclonic circulation over northwest Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood and low pressure area, Chennai city might not get rains due to these. The cyclonic circulation might prevent rains by impacting moisture and wind pattern in the south. It is now said that Monday is likely to be cloudy and the maximum and minimum temperatures is likely to be around 35 degrees and 28 degrees respectively. It is known that Chennai received short spells of convective rains in June and July and in August Chennai might get few more spells. It is important to note that the city of Chennai received 247.5mm rains from 1st of June.
