On Tuesday, Chennai suburbs to get heavy rains, but drizzles or thunder showers in other parts

The news that has come out now is cloudy skies, strong drizzles or thunder showers are likely to continue for one more day in many places belonging to the city of Chennai. There would be heavy rains in the suburbs of Chennai.

It has been forecasted by the meteorological department that the sky condition is likely to be cloudy and few spells of light to moderate rains or thundershowers is likely to occur in some places in Chennai. The meteorological department issued heavy warning for places like Kancheepuram, Tiruvallur, Thiruvannamalai, Vellore etc. Information is the Chennai city is likely to remain cloudy under the impact of heavy rains in the suburbs and in the surrounding districts.

Last week the temperature in the day in Chennai was 35 degrees Celsius. The mild drizzles received by the Chennai city plus the cloudy skies have brought down this temperature to the present 28 degree Celsius. On Monday, Chennai city cumulatively received 9 mm of rains for the 24 hours that ended at 8:30 am.

It must be noted that Nungambakkam received 7.8 mm rains and Meenambakkam received 3.5 mm on Sunday night and on the morning of Monday. It was brought out by the popular weather blogger, Mr. Pradeep John that this unusual rain was because of the upper air circulation and clouds moving in from the sea. It is now said that it would be interesting in the next 3 days of time.

The clouds have moved from Vellore to Chennai in Kancheepuram, Tiruvallur and Chennai.  Mr. Pradeep John mentioned that he was not sure about the clouds moving from sea to Chennai to Vellore like northeast monsoon. The truth is it had happened just 5 to 6 times in the last 15 years. He added that it was a rarity of Chennai getting rains from the clouds moving from the sea.
