Launch of Chandrayaan - 2, now Chennai school students get chance to see

Sometimes many unbelievable things which we dream happen in our real lives. One such dream that would soon become true for the school students would be seeing the launch of Chandrayaan-2 directly in Sriharikota. On Monday, Chandrayaan-2 would be launched. The students and teachers belonging to government aided Chennai based MCN Higher Secondary School would feel lucky that they would be witnessing the launch of Chandrayaan-2.

It is important to note that these school students till now would have heard and read about the space missions, satellites etc in the classrooms and books only. It is now revealed that these school students are gearing up to watch the launch of Chandrayaan-2 as they have traveled to Sriharikota. They would be seeing the launch from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre.

A student belonging to the above mentioned school expressed his feelings. He was happy and excited that he and his friends would be witnessing the launch of Chandrayaan-2. He said that he had read about and watched videos of space missions and satellite launches. Finally, he revealed that in the future he would become an astronaut. A science teacher belonging to the school spoke about how several students were interested in building models of satellites and rovers.

The teacher later threw light on how the students were shown the videos of satellite launches and space missions. Teacher added that this would be the first time ever the students would see the launch directly.

Space Kidz India is an organisation that provides experiential learning for the students in science and technology. This organisation is facilitating this trip for the students and teachers of this above school to see the launch directly in Sriharikota. At the launch gallery, there would be students, academicians and people from across India would be there.

It was later pointed out by Srimathy Kesan, founder and CEO Space Kidz India, that it would be a superb learning experience for the students of the school. This might make more students interested in science and space research. Finally, she spoke about how she wants more students to know about ISRO and the work they are doing for India.
