The counselling for the students who have applied pursuing to join engineering courses is scheduled to commence tomorrow (Tuesday, 25th June).
The counselling is conducted on behalf of the Directorate of Technology Education for the academic year 2019-20. The rank/merit list of the 104000 candidates who had applied and qualified after scrutiny/verification of documents/certificates was released on Thursday (20th June).
Subsequently, the counselling is scheduled to start on Tuesday, 25th June. The 1st 3 days of 1-to-1 direct counselling is intended for the special category of the applicants at the Central Polytechnic Complex located at Chennai Taramani.
On the 1st day (Tuesday) the counselling is for the differently-abled applicants. On this day, the candidates who secured the 1st 80 ranks will be allowed for counselling from 9.30 AM to 12.30 PM. The rest of 58 candidates will be allowed for counselling from 1.30 PM to 4.30 PM.
On the 2nd day of counselling (Wednesday, 26th June), the counselling for the heirs of the ex-military personnel are scheduled to be conducted in 7 sessions from 9.00 AM to 5.00 PM. 100 candidates are to be counselled during the 1st 2 sessions and 150 candidates will be counselled in each of the balance 5 sessions.
On the 3rd day, Thursday, 27th June, the counselling for the candidates with excellence in sports will be conducted in 8 sessions from 9.00 AM to 6.00 PM. 150 candidates are to be counselled during the 1st 2 sessions, and150 candidates will be counselled in each of the 6 balance sessions.
The counselling for the candidates with industrial training is scheduled on a direct basis from 26th June to 28th June at the Central Polytechnic Complex located at Chennai Taramani.
After this, the counselling for the candidates under the open community cadre is scheduled to be conducted online from 3rd July.
