18000 applicants for veterinary medical courses - rank/merit list release next week

18438 candidates have applied to join veterinary science medical courses. The merit/rank list is scheduled to be released next week.

There are 5 veterinary science medical colleges in the state of Tamil Nadu functioning under the Tamil Nadu Veterinary Science University. The courses offered here are:

5-and-a-half years integrated course on veterinary science and Animal Husbandry (BVSc-AH)

4-year course on Food Technology (B. Tech.)

4-year course on chicken/poultry technology (B. Tech.)

For the B V Sc-AH course, there are 360 seats available. Out of this, 54 seats (15%) are reserved for All India Quota. The balance of 306 seats is available for state government recruitment.

For B. Tech. Courses, there are 40 seats. Out of this, 15% or 6 seats are reserved for Indian Agriculture Research Council.

In this scenario, the online applying process for the B V Sc-AH and B tech courses for the academic year 2019-20  on 8th May. 

The websites : www.tanuvas.ac.in and www2.tanuvas.ac.in.

The last date for online application was over day-before-yesterday at 6.00 PM (17th June).

So far, 15666 applications have been received for the BVSc-AH course and 2772 applications have been received for the B. Tech. Courses. This totals to 18438 applications.

As compared to the previous year, there have been 3559 additional applications received for the BVSc-AH course and additional 354 applications received for the B. Tech. Course.

The applications are under the process of scrutiny and the rank/merit list is scheduled to be released during the last week of June. Tamil Nadu Veterinary Science University has informed that the counselling for admission is scheduled to start by 2nd week of July.
