To prevent accidents, traffic police in Chennai install LED lights

Chennai city has got huge population is known. Many accidents take place on the Chennai roads inspite of the traffic police efforts. The important information is Chennai traffic police are now grabbing the attention of many for their latest effort to prevent accidents from taking place. New LED has been installed at the traffic stop lines now. This was done to alert the motorists and to prevent accidents. These LED lights flicker in 3 different colours such as red, white and blue and these lights are present at 2 locations on the popular Kamarajar Salai on the Marina Beach. There are plans to install LED lights across Chennai city.
It is said that presently LED lights have been fixed at stop lines on the road near Gandhi statue and near DGP office. The superb piece of news is these LED lights would operate for the 24 hours and could work even during the rains by means of a batteries attached to the pole erected by the roadside. Water proof nature of these LED lights is superb. The point is this idea to install LED lights was suggested after many motorists failed to notice boards signalling U-turn, speed breakers and junctions present. The colours such as red, white and blue could be found in many patrol vehicles. It is now revealed that these colours were chosen as they are similar to those blinking on the patrol vehicles.
Sign boards are erected on the sides of the roads and they are not visible from a distance is known. Information collected is these LED lights are visible from a distance also. By this, accidents could be avoided as it would give more time for the motorist to put brakes. To indicate the different traffic signs, police were putting only road markings by using different colours. This was as per a senior Police official.
