Now some respite from heat for the Chennai residents due to sea breeze

Till Wednesday, 8th May 2019, heat wave would be present in the interior parts belonging to the state of TN. The important point is the Meteorological department had issued warning advising the people not to expose themselves to direct sunlight during the day. This is mainly to avoid getting heat stokes.
On Monday, it was extremely hot in places like Tiruttani and Trichy and the maximum temperatures recorded in these places were 43.5 degree Celsius and nearly 42 degree Celsius respectively. It is now said that that north and north-westerly winds would dominate soon and this was later confirmed by none other than Mr. N. Puviarasan who is the director, Area Cyclone Warning Centre. He added that due to delay in the onset of sea breeze, the temperatures in the day time goes above the normal.
After 9th May, the heat wave condition might lose its intensity over the region. This would be due to the fact that cool easterlies would become stronger. Mr. Puviarasan then commented about how after 9th May there would be chances of thunderstorm in the interior areas and Western Ghats. On Sunday, some places belonging to Vellore and Krishnagiri districts recorded 5 cm and 8 cm of rainfall respectively. The people in these places got some respite from the scorching sun. It is now revealed that over the next 3 days of time thunderstorms with gusty winds are likely to develop and as a result of this the interior districts of TN might get some relief from the heat.
Sea breeze that got set in around noon helped the residents of Chennai city from unbearable heat on Monday. It is now said that the day temperature in Chennai city has been oscillating in the last 2 days as it depended on the onset of the sea breeze. It was another hot day in Chennai on Monday and the temperatures recorded in Meenambakkam and Nungambakkam were 41.2 degrees and 38.6 degrees respectively.
Normally during the second half on the month of May, the state of TN experienced hot days. This was as per the weather experts. As the cyclone Fani took away the moisture, heat wave was present in some parts of TN including Chennai in the beginning of May month itself. This was according to a weather expert Mr. Y.E.A. Raj. It must not be forgotten that in 2017, Chennai city witnessed as many as 10 hot days and the maximum temperature went beyond 40 degree mark in the May month.
