Womens Day celebrations for a week

Women`s Day being celebrated throughout the State for seven days from Friday onwards. The following are some of the highlights of the celebration.
The Madras Medical College and TN Government Maternity Hospital jointly started a weeklong celebrations of the Women`sDay today.Adyar Cancer Center Director Dr V.Shantha inaugurated the function.Madras Medical College Dean Kanagasabai and Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital Chief Dietician Meenakshi Bajaj participated.
On the second day, Egmore Maternity Hospital`s former Director Dr Mathurambal, Dr Manorama, Dr Kowsalya, Dr Thirunangai Noori and the hospital`s Ambulance Van Driver Kayalvizhi will be honoured.
In yet another function to be held at the Mylapore Bharthiya Vidya Bhavan at 6 PM, women writers will be honoured in which PadmavathyVivekanandan, Rama Gurunathan and other writers participate.
Former TN Minister Gokula Indira will be participating in a women`s day celebration function to be held at P.S.High School, Mylapore - 5.30 PM.
At the BSNL women`s day celebration to he held at the Office of the BSNL, Anna Salai K.Vijaya Prakash and Valli Nayagam participate.
In a function organised by the Nandalala Seva Samithi Trust the day was celebrated with various programme at the house of Poet Bharathi, Triplicane. Vasuki Kannappan participated in the function.
A Defence course ( work shop) for the working women being organised at the Taj Club House Hotel in which Justice Jayachandran, TN Government Advocate General A.Naveetha Krishnan and Vanitha participated.
At the Dr Janaki Ramachandran Arts College, a competition Best Mom 2013 was held.
Dr Murali Manohar Joshi MP and Atulya Misra release a book on Women at a function to be held in Park Sheraton Hotel, TTK Road, Alwarpet.
