Grand Folk ad Dance Festival in Trichy district

A Grand Folk and Dance Festival is being organized by the South Zone Cultural Centre (SZCC) along with Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) on 7th, 8th and 9th March. The Festival will take place in Pattukottai, Thanjavur, Trichy and Thiruvaiyaru.
The arts that will be showcased are Bihu from Assam, Rai Bense from Bengal, Siddhi Dhamal from Gujarat, Phag from Haryana, Dangri Gaza from Maharashtra, Cheraw Bamboo Dance from Mizoram, Sambal Puri from Odisha and Cholia Dance from Uttarakhand.
The southern folk dances will be Dollikuntha, Periya Thalam, Devarattam, Oyilattam, Bommallattam, Kuchipudi, Mohiniyattam and Yaksha Ganam among many others.
