More rain expected on Thursday

The low pressure trough near Sri Lanka has caused heavy rains in the southern part of Tamil Nadu, especially those areas of the Cauvery delta. Rains will continue on Thursday as well.
Director of the Chennai Meteorological Department Ramanan spoke to the media. He said, The low pressure trough will move from the South of the Bay of Bengal westwards in between Kanyakumari and Maldives. This will result in heavy rains in the southern parts of the State.
Rain can also be expected in Chennai, Pondicherry and other coastal regions as well as Kanyakumari, Ramanathapuram, Tuticorin and the Nilgiris.
