On 12th December, Anna University to conduct re-examination on maths 2 paper

Mathematics is an important subject for the students studying engineering. Recently the maths- 2 question paper got leaked is known. This led to cancellation of maths-2 paper by the Anna University or AU. The latest piece of news is on 12 of December 2018, re-examination for the affiliated colleges would be conducted and this was announced by AU.

On 3rd December 2018, mathematics-2 arrear paper was conducted and over 80,000 students wrote the examination. It is important to mention that during the examinations it was brought out by some students that the mathematics question paper was already leaked by some miscreants. This mathematics examination is regarded as one of the toughest in the engineering streams and every year many students fail in mathematics paper are known. An inquiry was held regarding the maths-2 question paper leak and it was found to be true and this had shocked the Anna University. Vice-chancellor of Anna University cancelled the examination on the same day. It is now said that the re-examination for maths-2 would be conducted on 12th December 2018.

On Friday, 7th December, AU in an announcement stated that B.E/B. Tech students from all the branches of engineering except marine engineering could appear for the maths-2 examination. The hall tickets sent for the semester examinations could be used by the students writing maths-2 examination. An in-house enquiry regarding the question paper leak was carried out by the university. As per the sources of AU it is now clear that the inquiry did not provide the answer regarding the maths-2 question paper leak. The case would be handed over to the police to find those who were involved in this question paper leak.

For the students belonging to the cyclone Gaja affected parts of Thiruvarur, Nagapattinam and Pudukottai districts, the controller of examinations office had also released the re-scheduled examination dates. The examinations should have been  held at these places on 22nd November, 23rd November and 24th November but were cancelled after cyclone created havoc in the delta regions. The examinations would be held on 18th December, 19th December and 20th December now.
