The rainfall in the state of Tamil Nadu would reduce gradually and this was confirmed by the RMC or regional Metropolitan Centre. According to Mr. Balachandran, deputy director general of meteorology, northeast monsoon has been active in Tamil Nadu. He explained about how Thursday’s low pressure area over interior parts of TN and neighbourhood had weakened and how it now lying as a trough of low at mean sea level over south east Arabian sea plus in the adjoining Maldives-Lakshadweep area.  In another 3 days of time the rainfall would slowly reduce in TN. He also threw light on the heavy rains that is likely to occur at isolated places over Thoothukudi, Tirunelveli, Ramanathapuram, Sivagangai, Virudhunagar, Pudukottai, Ariyalur, Nagapattinam, Thiruvarur and in the districts of Thanjavur etc. While speaking about the prospects of rain in the Chennai city, the weather expert revealed that the sky would be cloudy in Chennai and there would be light rainfall in some places. The maximum temperature would be 32 degree Celsius and the minimum temperature would be 25 degree Celsius.

Another weatherman expressed his views and spoke about how strong easterly surge has been created now due to low pressure that is persisting over the interior parts of TN. He later added that this easterly surge would play an important role in bringing rains across most parts of TN. The weatherman later spoke about the convergence of dry northerlies and moist easterlies fall over parts of northwest interior of TN and adjoining parts of south interior Karnataka. This would be the reason for the rainfall in the interior places.
