The present low pressure near SriLanka is a weak system and is not expected to cause high winds or high waves. It is just a well marked low pressure. Not even a Depression. It will fizzle out around 10th november as a weak circulation. There is no cyclone threat from this system and seas are absolutely safe. One need not worry about this low pressure. However rains are still expected in Southern Districts in next 3 days (7-9th November) and Delta to cuddalore will see rains on 8th November.
8th November will be a key to watch - Will be a key day where rains will be seen from Pondy to Kanyakumari and will see widespread rains.
Heavy rains will be seen in Ramanthapuram, Thoothukudi, Thiruvarur, Nagapattinam, Tirunelveli and Kanyakumari and keep an eye on 8th November.
Other districts such as Pudukottai, Thanjavur, Sivaganga, Madurai, Dindigul, Virudhungar, Theni and others will get rains too.
Chennai - Mostly dry weather on cards for next one week - odd showers can happen here and there like the past few days.
Sudden showers are always possible as it is our monsoon. On 8th November rains are extending upto Pondy. If lucky we might catch some lucky rains.
All eyes on the mid-november system
The one which i have been telling even from last week, this should most likely become a cyclone and move towards TN coast. But it is too early to say more than this at present time. It has no other way but has to come to Tamil Nadu cost with favorable ridge position. Refer pic - It has already formed as low near Gulf of Thailand.
They need not worry about the present low near Sri Lanka. Its a very very weak system. However, the next system is coming as a Depression near Andaman & Nicobar itself. Please avoid venturing into Bay of Bengal off Tamil Nadu coast from 10th November. The sea will become very rough.
