Low pressure over Bay of Bengal sets up monsoon rains around November 1

The latest update from Meteorological Department confirmed the commencement of northeast monsoon with the low pressure arear over Bay of Bengal. Winds are noticed around the pressure area setting up the monsoon rains around November 1. This time the monsoon rains are expected to hit the coastal zones of Tamil Nadu around the first week of November after several failed predictions.
Absence of favorable weather conditions and formation of less intense winds lead to low rains in many coastal areas. Now heavy rains are much expected for a balance water management in and out of the city. Regional Meteorological Centre, Chennai reported the formation of conditions in coherence with the setup of the northeast monsoon bringing heavy rains. Coastal areas of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and some parts of Kerala will receive considerable amounts of rainfall.
A cyclonic circulation over southwest Bay of Bengal extending till Sri Lanka was noticed by the meteorological department. Atmospheric pressure over the cyclone is getting stronger over 3.1km above mean seal level. This condition over the ocean likely to bring rainfall starting from October 31 which is expected to continue till November 3.
Another spell is expected to hit with more intense rainfall making the Diwali celebration more wet this year. This spell is likely to hit Chennai and other coastal parts between November 5 and 7.
El Nino, a phenomenon in the equatorial Pacific Ocean may bring rainfall above normal rainfall around the monsoon said many reports of private weather forecast agencies. Light rains in many parts of Chennai and some parts may receive heavy rainfall with the temperature falling around 32 degrees Celsius and 25 degrees Celsius. Wet moisture weather will be persistent throughout the coastal parts in the two spells with heavy rains on substantial intervals.
