The onset of northeast monsoon rainy season in 5 days

The Chennai Meteorological Centre has informed that as the wind speeds are likely to be strengthened and blow at higher speeds in the next 5 days, there are prospects the onset of the northeast monsoon rainy season in South India.
The Director of the Chennai Meteorological Centre, S, Balachandran, shared the information in this regard that the normal winds which blow during the northeast monsoon rainy season are now prevailing over the South Bay of Bengal and the adjacent Sri Lanka areas. This wind may strengthen leading to the onset of the northeast monsoon rainy season in South India.
As for the weather for the next 2 days, the director informed that there are prospects of medium rain in a few places in the South Tamil Nadu and 1 or 2 places in North Tamil Nadu.
However, there are no prospects of rain in the Chennai Metro City and its suburbs.
